Exploring the latest trends in countertops

Exploring the latest trends in countertops. 2023 TISE, NKBA, KBIS, NAHB and IBS Show in Las Vegas.

GMD Surfaces owner Omar Chahin and staff trip to the TISE, NKBA, KBIS, IBS and NAHB trade show in Las Vegas. The 2023 trip to Las Vegas is meant to explore the latest trends and newest product at the largest trade show of our industry. We visited different quartz, granite, quartzite and porcelain suppliers to find out the latest trends and newest products. Great and wonderful show as always. But overall we leave with this impression on countertops: – Quartz will remain the dominant countertops material for the Foreseeable future. – Whites and grays are still in high demand. – Porcelain and Compact surfaces are gaining popularity and getting very creative with their designs and colors. – High end natural stone are coming back for the high end market. These materials include marbles and quartzites. – Kitchen accessories and gadgets are becoming more creative and useful. Most popular are the mechanical lifts to hide appliances, TV’s, hidden conduction units, integrated cooking elements and pop ups. – Brushed gold fixtures will continue to trend along. – Master bathrooms are turning into luxury spas with high end fixtures. Body sprays, rain shower heads and grout- less porcelain and stone slabs are popular upgrades. We have to say that the hidden conduction cooking and cooking elements integrated into the countertops are truly impressive and wonderful looking. Also, countertop manufacturing and design is becoming more creative. Popular design elements include waterfall panels, miters, honed surfaces, fluted surfaces, lamination and finally sand blasted surfaces. We truly enjoyed the 2023 Las Vegas show and we look forward to visiting next year.
